SailPoint Acquires Entro Security in Reported $200 Million Deal

SailPoint has acquired Israeli cybersecurity startup Entro Security, and Calcalist has learned that the deal is valued at approximately $200 million. It was done to enhance its protection of non-human identities, such as service accounts, API keys, tokens, certificates, and AI agents.
The companies did not disclose financial details, but Israeli publication Calcalist reported the deal was valued at approximately $200 million.
Entro targets machine identity risks
Entro develops technology to identify, manage, and protect machine identities and their credentials. Its platform gives security teams visibility into non-human identities across cloud systems, code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and software applications.
This acquisition addresses a growing challenge for security teams. While companies typically have established processes for managing employee access, machine accounts and credentials are often created outside standard identity systems.
Service accounts may remain active after project changes. API tokens can be embedded in source code or automation tools. AI agents may access internal applications and company data without the oversight applied to human users.
Entro’s platform links credentials to the applications, workloads, and teams that use them. It also monitors for unusual activity that may indicate a stolen token, compromised account, or misconfigured machine identity.
SailPoint expands its identity security platform
Itzik Alvas and Adam Shriki founded Entro in October 2022. Before the acquisition, the company raised $24 million, including $18 million in a Series A led by Dell Technologies Capital. Other investors included StageOne Ventures, Hyperwise Venture, Booking.com, SolarWinds, Elastic, KAYAK, and Regatta Great Outdoors, according to company information in the acquisition report.
Following the acquisition, employees from both countries are expected to join SailPoint’s development team.
For SailPoint, this acquisition adds secrets discovery and real-time monitoring to its identity governance products. SailPoint’s existing technology manages access approvals, identity management, entitlement reviews, and governance policies.
By integrating these features with Entro’s credential discovery tools, customers can link machine identities to responsible owners and monitor credential usage in production systems.
AI agents increase the pressure on identity teams
The acquisition also enables SailPoint to support AI agents. As companies grant agents access to business applications, databases, and internal tools, these agents represent another identity type requiring oversight.
An AI agent may use multiple service accounts, tokens, or application connections. Security teams need visibility into these connections to detect suspicious activity or revoke access as needed.
Traditional identity systems were primarily designed for employees and contractors. AI agents and automated workloads function differently. Developers may create them, they can operate in various environments, and they often continue running without a clear owner.
SailPoint anticipates that customers will seek to manage these identities using the same governance system as for human users, while implementing appropriate controls for secrets and machine credentials.
Non-human identity security sees more consolidation
SailPoint has previously expanded its Israeli operations through acquisition. In August 2025, the company acquired the core assets of Savvy, a startup focused on securing enterprise use of SaaS applications.
The Entro acquisition further strengthens SailPoint’s identity security portfolio. Savvy manages application access, while Entro addresses credentials and machine identities supporting applications and automated systems. Non-human identity security is an increasingly active area for cybersecurity investment and mergers.
